Dipa Karmakar - First Indian Gymnast to win Gold in Gymnastics world challenge cup

Dipa, 24 after her recovery from Rio olympics injury, participated in vault event of FIG Artistic Gymnastics world challenge cup 2018 and won Gold medal for India. Being the first Indian Gymnast to win Gold at a Global event, she sets a milestone in Indian Gymnastics history.

The athlete, from Tripura scored 14.150 to win the Top prize i.e. the Gold Medal followed by Rifda Irfanaluthfi of Indonesia (13.400 points) and Goksu Uctas Sanli of Turkey(13.200) to win the Silver and bronze medals respectively.

Dipa also gets qualified in balance beam finals scoring 11.850 points to win the third position.

The victory is indeed a proud moment for Dipa, her coach Bisheshwar Nandi and all the Indians. We wish Dipa all success for the upcoming Asian games.
